About Us

Our family is based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where Evan serves at the Asia Biblical Theological Seminary (ABTS). Evan is Assistant Professor of Missiology and Spirituality and Director of Online Education at ABTS. He teaches Southeast Asian pastors and missionaries through intensive seminary courses at satellite schools in their respective countries.

Evan grew up in Spokane, WA, and the Lord called him to repentance and faith in Christ at age seven. Since age five, he struggled with daily epileptic seizures. At age eight, after having a seizure one night, he was laying in bed listening to a radio broadcast about the Jim Elliot story, and he felt called to preach the gospel to the nations. God sustained that burden in spite of major health struggles and miraculously spared his life through brain surgery at age fourteen. The Lord graciously designed his health challenges to draw him closer to Christ.

Kristie grew up in Peoria, IL, and the Lord called her to repentance and faith in Christ at age twelve. At age fourteen, she went on her first short-term mission trip. The Lord used that trip to give her an indelible burden for taking the gospel to the nations.
We each earned a B.A. at Moody Bible Institute. While attending Moody, Evan served as the Prayer Coordinator for the Student Missions Fellowship, where he met Kristie, who was a member of the prayer committee. While at Moody, we acquired a passion for the holiness and sovereignty of God, which has become the bedrock for our missionary call.

Evan then completed an M.A. at Wheaton College. After we were married in 2006, we moved to Spokane, WA, to minister in our sending churches and to develop partnerships.  While working at a sending church, Evan went through the ordination process.

In September 2009, we were blessed with identical twin boys Elijah and Isaiah. Elijah and Isaiah are now four years old, the best of friends, and two of the most talkative little boys we know. Since July 2013, Kristie's days have been filled with homeschooling our curious, inquisitive sons.

Prior to serving as a long-term missionaries, we traveled to numerous countries and served short-term in Southeast Asia, East Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America. From 2007-2011, we served in the Middle East and East Asia.In 2011, while on home assignment, Evan completed his M.Div. from Western Seminary.  He is now working on a modular Ph.D. at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Our missions agency is Training Leaders International (TLI) based in Minneapolis, MN.

Our family's verse: "Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept for long ages but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith--to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen." (Romans 16:25-27)

  1. Fellowship of Yah: Relating The Truth To All Who Are Sent. We are striving to bring the truth of the Gospel without any obstruction of man. We teach that Genesis through Revelation is all the living Word and should be treated as such.
